Apple wants to replicate the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s cool features for its 2025 line of phones. One of the most touted features of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is its anti-reflective screen.
The screen uses Gorilla Glass Armor from Corning which has an anti-reflective coating that can cut reflections by up to 75%, making the content on the screen look clearer and more vivid in environments with light sources, such as in direct sunlight.
Well, now Apple wants to replicate this feature for its line of cellphones in 2025.
According to a new report from Instant Digital on Weibo, the iPhone 17 series smartphones, which will debut in 2025, will have a “super hard anti-reflective coating” that is “more scratch-resistant than you think” (via MacRumors).
As reported Sammobileit is reported that Apple has handed over the equipment to apply the coating to the company that will work on the screen during the manufacturing process.

However, the company couldn’t make it in time to offer the feature on this year’s smartphone lineup, the iPhone 16 series.
Currently, there is no information on whether Apple is using Corning’s Gorilla Glass Armor or something else to offer the upgrade.
It’s possible that Apple could ask Corning to supply the same technology used for Gorilla Glass Armor under a different name for the iPhone 17 lineup.
The aim is to differentiate the anti-reflective coating on the upcoming line of smartphones from the one used for the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
This is an attempt to differentiate the brand and the phone, and thereby hopefully create hype and increase sales.
