Mataram (ANTARA) – The West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Provincial Government (Pemprov) has appealed to parents in the area to limit children’s use of gadgets so that children can grow up active and healthy.
“The maximum per day is only 30 minutes. This is expected so that children can train their gross and fine motor skills, practice how to socialize, practice language, because children need to socialize and speak,” said Assistant II to the Regional Secretariat of the NTB Provincial Government, Dr. Nurhandini Eka Dewi at the Final Evaluation and Advocacy Workshop for the Sustainability of the Risk Communication and Community Involvement (RCCE) Program in a written statement received by journalists in Mataram, Wednesday.
According to him, limiting the use of gadgets among children is important, especially for child-friendly districts and cities in NTB. Based on the 2020 Child Profile Source, the number of children in NTB is 1.927 million people.
“Child-friendly districts and cities are districts/cities with development systems that guarantee the fulfillment of children’s rights and special protection for children in a planned, comprehensive and sustainable manner,” he said.
The official head of the NTB DP3AP2KB also said that the increase in child-friendly districts and cities (KLA) in NTB from 2017 to 2023 has been as many as seven districts/cities with KLA status, such as Mataram City, West Lombok Regency, East Lombok Regency, Sumbawa, Dompu, Kota Bima and Bima Regency.
“Meanwhile, for the districts that haven’t yet, namely Central Lombok Regency, North Lombok Regency and West Sumbawa Regency, of course with joint synergy we will definitely ensure KLA there,” he said.
